The biggest problem with foldable smartphone displays right now is the noticeable crease, which directly affects how long the screen will last. Foldable phones with inward and outward folding designs are affected by this issue. Hence, the hinge mechanism plays an important role for foldable phones.
To resolve this issue, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 uses the Xiaomi DragonHinge, which is made from strong carbon ceramic steel. It can handle 500,000 folds without any worries and has been certified by TÜV Rheinland. With a super strength of 1800MPa, it offers comprehensive screen protection. This hinge also lets you position the screen at different angles, from 45° to 135°, for flexible use.
The inclusion of the new hinge certainly means that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will offer better durability, which in turn suggests that there will be no or very less screen issues on the device. Xiaomi has released a couple of images to showcase the design of the phone. As can be seen in the below images, the device will come in gold and black variants.
Reports claimed that the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will be thinner and lighter than the MIX Fold 2. In addition, it is expected to offer key specifications, such as the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, a quad-camera system featuring a periscope zoom camera, and 50W wireless charging.
The Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 is not the only device launching on Aug. 14. The brand is also going to launch other products, such as the Redmi K60 Ultra, the Xiaomi Pad 6 Max, and the Xiaomi Band 8 Pro through the same event.
