Rumors are rife that Redmi will launch the Redmi Note 13 series of smartphones in October this year in China. The brand is expected to launch the Note 13, Note 13 Pro, Note 13 Pro+, and Note 13 Discovery as successors to last year’s Note 12, Note 12 Pro, Note 12 Pro+, and Note 12 Discovery. In a new leak, tipster Kacper Skrzypek has revealed the key specifications of a forthcoming Redmi Note 13 series.
While the tipster has revealed the camera specifications of the device, he has not said anything about its final marketing name. According to the leak, the alleged Note 13 series phone will arrive with a Samsung HP3 200-megapixel primary camera paired with an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultra-wide lens and a 2-megapixel OmniVision OV2B10 macro/depth camera. For selfies, it might feature a 16-megapixel OmniVision OV16A1Q front camera.
Powering the device is likely a MediaTek chip, possibly the Dimensity 9200 Plus chip, which also powers the recently announced Redmi K60 Ultra. The inclusion of the 200-megapixel camera raises speculation that this could succeed the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ or the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition.
Since the K60 Ultra already carries the Dimensity 9200+, Redmi may not launch another phone with the same chip soon after the K60 Ultra. Hence, it appears that the alleged Redmi Note 13 series smartphone will have a different MediaTek chip. The leak also states that the device will debut in the global market, but its exact timeframe is not known yet.
Until further information emerges, it is advisable to await additional reports for confirmation on its official name and details. In related news, the brand is also said to be working on the Redmi K70 lineup. It is speculated that the Redmi K70e, Redmi K70, and Redmi K70 Pro may launch in December this year.
