OnePlus is expected to unveil the OnePlus 12 flagship phone later this month in China. Ahead of the expected launch, Li Jie, President of OnePlus China, recently published an article commemorating OnePlus’s 10th anniversary and extolling the OnePlus 12 as the flagship that marks a decade of excellence.
Li Jie expressed his utmost confidence in the OnePlus 12’s imaging capabilities, asserting that it has reached an unprecedented pinnacle in imaging quality. He boldly claimed that it outshines even the “Pro” versions of competing devices.
One of the remarkable features of the OnePlus 12 is its state-of-the-art customized imaging hardware, developed in collaboration with Sony. The device will be equipped with Sony’s latest LYTIA series camera as the primary snapper. Furthermore, OnePlus will continue its collaboration with the imaging brand Hasselblad on the OnePlus 12.
Runors are rife that the main camera for the OnePlus 12 is the Sony LYT-T808, equipped with an 1/1.43-inch sensor and double-layer transistor technology. It is the same sensor that is available on the OnePlus Open / OPPO Find N3 foldable phone.
Some reports have claimed that the OP12’s rear camera setup will be the same as the Open / Find N3. Hence, it is likely to feature a Sony iMX581 48-megapixel ultra-wide lens and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B pericope telephoto camera. For selfies, the device will be equipped with a 32-megapixel front-facing camera.
The above poster states that the company will showcase the camera capabilities of the OP12 at the upcoming OPPO Imaging Strategic Communication and Paris Film Festival, which will be held on Nov. 9. There is a possibility that the brand may confirm the OnePlus 12 launch date on the said date or later this week.
