Huawei will announce the Nova 12 series of smartphones in China tomorrow (Dec. 26). There has been confusion about the number of devices that are part of the lineup. Also, it is unclear what chipsets will power the Nova 12 lineup. Multiple leaks that have emerged today have revealed the key details of the Nova 12 lineup.
As per multiple leaks, the Nova 12 Ultra will feature the Kirin 9000 SL SoC. The chipset has never been used by Huawei before. Speculations are rife that it could be an under-clocked version of the Kirin 9000s.
The Nova 12 Pro will be equipped with the new Kirin 8000 chipset. Like the Kirin 9000 SL, the said chipset also supports 5G connectivity. The 12 Pro is expected to ship with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
It is speculated that the Nova 12 Ultra and Pro will have similar specs, such as a 6.78-inch OLED display that offers a 1.5K resolution, a 60-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual-selfie camera setup, and an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel main camera with f/1.4 to f/4.0 variable aperture on the back.
The Nova 12 Lite, or Vitality Edition, will feature the Snapdragon 778G 4G chipset. It will have 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. As per other reports, it is expected to come with a 60-megapixel front camera, a 50-megapixel rear camera, and an OLED panel with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. The Nova 12 Ultra, Pro, and Vitality Edition are said to have ADA-AL00U, ADA-AL00, and FIN-AL60 model numbers, respectively.
