There were reports circulating at the beginning of the second half of this year that Honor would announce the Honor X50 GT and 90 GT smartphones within this year. The company did unveil the 90 GT last week, but it did not confirm anything about the X50 GT. It appears that the X50 GT will be launching in early 2024 in China.
According to a Chinese tech blogger, the X50 GT and the Magic 6 series will be the first Honor phones to debut at the start of the coming year. Both devices are said to offer several upgrades over their predecessor generations.
The Honor X50 GT, which will succeed the Honor X40 GT, is expected to be priced at around 2,000 Yuan ($280). As far as the Magic 6 series is concerned, it will be the most powerful flagship phone from the brand, as it is expected to come with support for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, two-way satellite communication support, and a new collaboration with Porsche Design Studio.
The tech blogger shared the above images to tease the design of both devices. Another leaker has also tipped the existence of the Honor X50 Pro, which may also be available at the beginning of the coming year.
Some reports have claimed that the Honor X50 GT will feature an OLED panel instead of the LCD panel that was seen on its previous generation. The X50 GT may continue to feature the same Snapdragon 888 chip that powered the X40 GT.
