Oppo Reno 12 series’ first leak reveals chip, camera details

In November, Oppo unveiled the Reno 11 series of smartphones in the Chinese market.  It is likely that after six months, the company may unveil the Reno 12 lineup in China. Well ahead of the launch, reliable leaker Digital Chat Station has leaked key details about the Reno 12 series.

The Reno 10 series included three models, whereas the Reno 11 lineup consisted of two models for the Chinese market. It is unclear how many devices are included in the Reno 12. In the latest leak, DCS has mentioned key information about the topmost model in the series. However, whether he is talking about the 12 Pro or the 12 Pro+ is unclear.

Considering that the leaker could be talking about the Reno 12 Pro model, the leak reveals that it will have the Snapdragon 8-series chip. The Reno 11 Pro available in China has the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. Hence, it seems that the 12 Pro will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC.

The leak further states that the device will be equipped with a high-quality periscope telephoto camera. Unfortunately, the tipster did not mention the camera sensor details.

In related news, OPPO is currently busy releasing the Reno 11 series on the global market. The Reno 11 and 11 Pro available in the Chinese market feature the Dimensity 8200 and Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipsets, respectively. However, their global editions feature the Dimensity 7050 and Dimensity 8200 chipsets, respectively. In addition, the brand also released a couple of new devices, such as the Oppo Pad Neo tablet, the Enco Air 3s, and the Enco Air 2 Pro, in the Malaysian market. On the other hand, the Chinese market has received the Find X7 and X7 Ultra flagship phones. Reports suggest that the X7 series may not launch outside of China.
