Oppo K12 with Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 in works

Last year, Oppo launched the Oppo K11x in May, and it was followed by the Oppo K11 in August in China. This year, too, the brand is expected to launch K-branded phones in the Chinese market. A new leak, courtesy of Tipster Digital Chat Station, has revealed the name of the model as well as the chip that will power it.

According to the leaker, the Oppo K12 is in the works, and it will feature a Qualcomm chip that has the SM7550 part number. Hence, it can be said that the upcoming K12 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

The K12 could be the third smartphone in the Chinese market to feature the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. The Honor 90, which launched in November in China, debuted as the world’s first phone with the SD7G3. The same chip also powers the Vivo S18, which went official in December in China.

Unfortunately, nothing else is known about the Oppo K12’s specifications and launch timeframe. Hopefully, newer reports will shed light on these aspects.

To recall, the Oppo K11 features a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel that offers an FHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and Gorilla Glass 5. Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 782G chipset. It features up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage.

On the front, the device has a 16-megapixel selfie camera, and its rear panel has an OIS-enabled 50-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 2-megapixel macro lens. The device runs on ColorOS 13.1-based Android 13.
