Android Rumors Leaked Motorola News

Motorola to launch Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone, here’s launch timeframe

Motorola stands out as the sole major smartphone brand in China that has not introduced a flagship phone equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Even Realme, which launched a flagship phone in January 2022, unveiled the Realme GT 5 Pro with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in December 2023. Nio, a well-known manufacturer in China, also launched an SD8G3 phone in the Chinese market to complement its cars. Despite the absence, there is hopeful news for Motorola enthusiasts, as a recent leak suggests that the company is gearing up to release a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship phone later this year.

According to a Chinese leaker, Motorola’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone will debut in the second quarter of this year. Unfortunately, the leaker has not mentioned the name of the device.

Moto X40
Moto X40

Motorola unveiled the Moto X40 equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in December 2022. Hence, there is a possibility that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 phone from the brand could be called the Moto X50.

A rebranded version of the Moto X40 was released as the Motorola Edge 40 Pro in select markets outside of China. Hence, it is likely that the alleged Moto X50 may get rebranded as the Motorola Edge 50 Pro in the global market.

At present, there is no other information available about the Moto X50 / Edge 50 Pro. Hopefully, the rumor mill will reveal more details about the phone in the coming days.
