Honor recently confirmed that it will unveil the Honor 200 series of smartphones on May 27 in China. The lineup includes two models, such as the Honor 200 and 200 Pro. A recent leak claimed that these devices will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 and Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipsets, respectively, which appeared too good to be true. A new leak, courtesy of Chinese leaker Panda is Very Bald, has revealed what appears to be accurate details of the chipsets that power both smartphones.
The standard models of the previously released Honor 100 series, Honor 90 series, and Honor 80 lineup have featured the Snapdragon 7 series chipsets. As per the new leak, the Honor 200 will have the enhanced version of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset.
On the other hand, the Honor 200 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which is a toned-down version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The inclusion of the said chip suggests that it will rival the likes of the Xiaomi Civi 4 Pro, the Redmi Turbo 3, the Realme GT Neo 6, the iQOO Z9 Turbo, and the Moto X50 Ultra.
The official images of the Honor 200 and 200 Pro have revealed that the standard model has a curve-edge screen with a single punch-hole. On the other hand, the Pro variant has a quad-curved OLED panel with a pill-shaped cutout for dual front-facing cameras.
According to previous leaks, the Honor 200 series will feature a 50-megapixel main camera equipped with a 1/1.3-inch OmniVision OV50H sensor. This camera will have an f/1.9 aperture and OIS support. Additionally, a telephoto camera capable of 50x digital zoom is expected to be included. Both models in the series are likely to have a 5,200mAh battery with 100W fast charging support.
