A latest Weibo post by Xiaomi’s marketing manager seems to suggest that the upcoming Xiaomi Redmi 2 phablet will be announced on August 16th, exactly 3 days after Samsung’s unpacked event.
“Do not wait so long to see the side, right? 816 See Beijing.”
Soon after this was posted, IHS Technology Director Wang Yang posted “Qiazhiyisuan, debut of the Redmi Note 2.? instead. This highly support the assumptions that marketing director was hinting at the Redmi Note 2 on his Weibo account.
If that wasn’t convincing enough, August 16th is also the day when Xiaomi usually will hold a press event and offers special deals on his products as well.
