According to the latest leak by reliable leaker Digital Chat Station, the Redmi K80 Ultra will be powered by the forthcoming MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+ processor. Built on TSMC’s 3nm process, the chipset features a second-generation all-big-core architecture, with a Cortex-X925 prime core clocked at 3.62GHz, three Cortex-X4 performance cores, and four Cortex-A720 efficiency cores. The Dimensity 9400+ is considered a direct competitor to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite, with an overclocked CPU and improved efficiency. It is also set to debut in other flagship models like the Oppo Find X8S, Vivo X200S, and iQOO Neo 10S series.
The Redmi K80 Ultra is expected to house a battery capacity exceeding 7,000mAh, making it the largest battery ever in a Redmi K-series phone. It will support 100W wired fast charging, ensuring rapid power replenishment. The device will feature a 1.5K ultra-narrow bezel OLED flat display with ultrasonic fingerprint recognition, enhancing both aesthetics and security. Additionally, a metal frame will add to its premium build quality.
Price-wise, the K80 Ultra is likely to follow the pricing strategy of its predecessors, such as the Redmi K70 Ultra and Redmi K60 Ultra, which launched at 2,599 Yuan ($355) in China. The device may launch in the second quarter of this year.
