Honor unveiled the Honor 70 series in May this year. Rumors have started claiming that the Chinese manufacturer is now working on the Honor 80 series of smartphones. Today, Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station took to Weibo to share key specifications of an upcoming Honor smartphone. It is speculated that he may have spilt the details of an Honor 80 series phone.
According to the tipster, Honor is currently testing a phone that has a display that offers a 1.5K resolution. The machine translation of the leak reveals that it has a “flexible screen,” which indicates that it could be sporting curved edges. In all likelihood, it could be equipped with an OLED display.
Under the hood, the device will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 mobile platform and 12 GB of RAM. The leak further mentions that the device will have support for 100W charging but does not say anything about its battery size.
For photography, it will have a 200-megapixel primary camera. At present, there is no information on the auxiliary cameras or the selfie snapper of the device.
The tipster had previously hinted that the Honor series would include three devices powered by the Dimensity 1080, the Snapdragon 778G Plus, and the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. These devices are likely to launch in China as the Honor 80, Honor 80 Pro, and Honor 80 Pro+. Hence, it appears that the above-mentioned leaked specs belong to the Honor 80 Pro+. It is likely that the Honor 80 family may debut before the end of this year.
