Reports have revealed that Xiaomi is working on its next set of flagship phones, such as the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi 12S, and Xiaomi 12S Pro. These phones are said to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset, which went official recently.
The Chinese manufacturer recently entered a long-term partnership with Germany-based Leica to offer an optimized photography experience on its flagship phones. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra, which is expected to debut in July, may offer an enhanced photography experience thanks to the Xiaomi-Leica partnership. A leaked shot of a mysterious Xiaomi phone with Leica branding has surfaced on Weibo. It seems that this device could be the Xiaomi 12S.
The leaked image shows that the mysterious Xiaomi phone’s camera module has the main camera at the top. Below it is a pair of auxiliary cameras and an LED flash. The label placed on the device mentions its model number as 2206123SC. Unfortunately, the leak has no information on the specs of the device.
Recently, upcoming Xiaomi phones with model numbers 2203121C, 2206123SC, and 2206122SC were certified by the CMIIT authority in China. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi 12S, and Xiaomi 12S Pro are likely to be the names of these devices when they come out.
The Xiaomi 12S is expected to arrive as an enhanced version of the Xiaomi 12 flagship, which debuted in December last year. Previous reports have claimed that it will sport a curved edge FHD+ display with a punch-hole design. Like the Xiaomi 12, the 12S could be a compact flagship phone. It may feature a 50-megapixel main camera on the back.
The Xiaomi 12S Pro is likely to arrive as a bigger version of the 12S. It is expected to support 2K resolution and a 50-megapixel main camera. It may come in Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and Dimensity 9000 chipset variants.
