HiSense U50 Lite debuts with Unisoc SC7731E chipset

Chinese smartphone maker HiSense has announced a new entry-level smartphone known as the HiSense U50 Lite in the South African market where the phone carries an affordable price of just 1,099 ZAR (US$73).

The HiSense U50 Lite builds around a 5.7” TFT display that offers a 960 x 480 pixels screen, 60Hz refresh rate, as well as a 5 megapixels front-facing camera for selfie and video calling purposes.

At the back of the phone, it features a diamond-shaped camera module which kind of reminds us of the Vivo X50e 5G (Review). Despite taking up a significant portion of it’s rear panel, it actually has a single 5 megapixels rear camera which will be assisted by a LED flash for low-light shots.

Under the hood, the HiSense U50 Lite is powered by a quad-core Unisoc SC7731E chipset coupled wtih 1GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage which can be expanded by up to 128GB via a microSD card.

The device draws power from a mediocre 2450mAh battery with an unspecified charging speed. Just like most other entry-level smartphones in this segment, the HiSense U50 Lite will be shipped with Android 11 (Go Edition) out of the box.
