Honor Magic Flip tipped to pack largest battery in flip-style foldable

Honor unveiled the Honor Magic V2 and Magic Vs 2 foldable phones with inward folding designs in China. The home market also receives the V Purse concept foldable phone with an outward folding design. In the latest leak, DCS has leaked some details of Honor’s next-generation foldables planned for 2024.

While Samsung, Huawei, OPPO, and Vivo are offering flip-style foldable phones in China, Xiaomi and Honor are some of the leading smartphone manufacturers that haven’t launched such a foldable phone so far. Both brands are expected to launch their first flip-style foldable phones in the first half of 2024.

Based on what the leaker posted on Weibo, the Honor Magic Flip will have a 4,500mAh battery. It will be a combination of dual batteries with 2420mAh + 1980mAh individual batteries. Hence, its battery will be larger than the Vivo X Flip (4,400mAh) and the OPPO Find N3 Flip (4,300mAh).

He also said that the brand will announce one inward and one outward foldable phone in 2024. To recall, the Magic V2 and Vs 2 that have launched this year are both equipped with an inward folding design, whereas the V Purse has an outward folding design. In 2024, Honor may announce the Magic V3 and V Purse 2.

DCS did not say anything about the launch timeframe of these devices. However, it appears that the Magic Flip and Magic V3 may launch in the first half of 2024. On the other hand, Magic V Purse 2 may debut in the latter half of the year.
