Honor Play 5 confirmed to feature 66W fast-charging support

Yesterday, Honor has finally confirmed that the long-rumored Honor Play 5 will debut on May 18th next week. Now, the company further revealed that the device will be arriving with 66W fast-charging support, just like what earlier reports had claimed.

Despite it’s impressive charging speed, the Honor Play 5 is expected to be a mid-ranger smartphone based on what we’d learned so far. The phone is tipped to feature a 6.53” FHD+ OLED panel which has a dewdrop-notch that houses an unspecified selfie camera.

Around the back of the phone, it has a square-shape camera housing which is home to a quad-camera system which purportedly include a 64 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide unit, as well as a pair of 2 megapixels sensors for macro and depth information.

Under the hood, the Honor Play 5 is powered by a 5G-ready Mediatek MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset that’s also found in most of the recently announced mid-ranger phones like the Vivo V21. To keep its light on, it’s also backed by a respectable 3,800mAh battery.
