Honor Play 5T Pro Debuts with MediaTek Helio G80 & 64MP Dual-cameras

Honor will be holding a major launch event on August 12th, where the company is expected to launch a slew of new products including the much anticipated Honor Magic 3 series and Honor X20 smartphones, as well as the Honor V7 Pro tablet.

But ahead of the upcoming launch event, Honor has quietly announced a brand new mid-ranger smartphone in it’s home market dubbed as the Honor Play 5T Pro, successor to last year’s Honor Play 4T Pro.

The Honor Play 5T Pro features a 6.6” LCD display which offers a FHD+ screen resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, 94.2% screen-to-body ratio, as well as a 16 megapixels front-facing camera housed within it’s central hole-punch cutout.

On the flip-side, the phone sports a vertically-stacked dual-camera setup that includes a 64 megapixels main camera as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor for portraits. This will be accompanied by a LED flash located slightly below the cameras.

Under the hood, the Honor Play 5T Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 chipset which will be coupled with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department.

Keeping it’s lights on is none other than a respectable 4,000mAh battery which carries support for 22.5W fast-charging. On the software-side, the phone is covered by Magic UI 4.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.

For those who’re interested, the Honor Play 5T Pro is available in both Black and Silver colorways, and is priced at 1,499 Yuan (US$232) in the Chinese market.
