Lava Z3 is a new entry-level smartphone powered by MediaTek Helio A20

Indian smartphone maker Lava has announced a brand new entry-level smartphone known as the Lava Z3 which carries an affordable launch price of just INR 8,499 (US$110) in it’s domestic market.

The phone comes with a 6.5” IPS LCD display which supports a modest HD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. For selfie and video call, it does features a 5 megapixels front-facing camera housed within a waterdrop-notch upfront.

Over at the back, the Lava Z3 is available in two different paintjobs such as Striped Blue and Striped Cyan. It has a pill-shaped camera module which is home to a single 8 megapixels shooter aided by a LED flash. Just like most budget-centric smartphones, it opts for a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner rather than a side-mounted or in-display scanner.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek Heleio A20 chipset which will be paired with 3GB RAM and 32GB built-in storage which supports further expansion via a microSD card.

Moving on, it’s also equipped with a hefty 5,000mAh battery which doesn’t appears to feature any form of fast-charging solution. Software-wise, it’ll be shipped with a slightly older Android 11 OS out of the box.
