Meizu confirms the existence of upcoming Meizu 17 flagship; could be the company’s first 5G smartphone

We haven’t been hearing much from Meizu ever since the company unveiled their latest Meizu 16T smartphone back in October.

Today, the Chinese smartphone maker is finally back and they seems to be gearing up their teasing campaign for their upcoming Meizu 17 flagship.

This morning, the company has posted a simple teaser with the tagline “How to experience Meizu 17 for the first time,” adding that the answer will be revealed on December 13th.

Back in April this year, the existence of the Meizu 17 smartphone had already been known after an image with the slogan “meet the 5G new era, Meizu 17 is coming” was captured during the Unicom Partner Conference.

As such, the Meizu 17 could very well be the company’s first-ever 5G smartphone that will possibly support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) modes.

According to it’s earlier leaked render, the Meizu 17 is said to arrive with a hole-punched display with a triple-camera setup on it’s rear panel.

In terms of it’s internals, the device is likely to be driven by the newly announced Snapdragon 765 SoC or Snapdragon 865 SoC.
