ZTE has officially announced a new entry-level smartphone known as the ZTE Optus X Pro 2 in the Australian market where the phone commands an affordable launch price of just A$179 ($122).

The new model builds around a 6.52” IPS LCD display which features a modest HD+ screen resolution along with 60Hz refresh rate. To help with selfies and video calls, the phone is equipped with a 5 megapixels front-facing camera situated within a waterdrop-notch along it’s upper bezel.

On the rear side, the ZTE Optus X Pro 2 has a triple-cam unit that sits within a rectangular camera housing. These cameras include a 13 megapixels main camera as well as a pair of 2 megapixels for macro and depth information.

Under the hood, the phone is powered by an unspecified octa-core chipset which boasts a maximum clock speed of 1.6GHz. This will be paired with 3GB RAM and 64GB onboard storage which can be further expanded via a microSD card.

To keep it’s lights on, the phone is backed by a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging speed. Software-wise, it’ll be shipped with a slightly older Android 11 OS out of the box.
