Redmi 12 5G is reportedly in works, but it’s not a completely new model

After launching the Redmi 12 4G last month, Xiaomi is now said to be prepping a new 5G variant dubbed as the Redmi 12 5G. But before we get too excited, it’s worth keeping in mind that the new model is likely to be a rebranded model of the Redmi 12R which was recently announced in the Chinese market according to reputable tech analyst Kacper Skrzypek.

Although there’s a possibility that the Redmi 12 5G might be coming with some minor specs changes, but majority of the specs and features are likely to remain unchanged. As such, we can expect the phone to feature the same 6.79” FHD+ IPS LCD display with FHD+ screen resolution, Snapdragon 4 Gen 1 chipset, 50MP dual rear-facing cameras, 5MP selfie camera as well as a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support.
