We’d long heard that Samsung is gearing up for the launch of a new entry-level 5G smartphone known as the Samsung Galaxy A22 during the first-halve of the year.

Right now, another smartphone known as the Samsung Galaxy A22s has also appeared on Google Play Console, bearing the same SM-A226B model number as the Galaxy A22. This suggests that the Galaxy A22s may be launched as the rebranded model of the A22 in certain markets.

Furthermore, it’s Google Play Console listing also confirmed that the phone will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset, just like the Galaxy A22. This will be accompanied by a FHD+ display, 4GB RAM as well as the latest Android 11 OS.

In fact, the design of the Galaxy A22/ A22s had already been leaked last month. As such, we do know that the phone will be coming with a 6.5” Infinity-V display that’s likely to be a LCD display due to the presence of a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.

On the rear-side of the phone, there’s also a square-shape camera module which brings along a total of three cameras which is likely to be lead by a 48 megapixels main camera. Apart from that, the device also has a bottom-firing speaker, USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack located along the base of the phone.
