Sony Xperia Z3 to run on Snapdragon 801 chipset according to latest leaks

A latest leaked image has confirmed that the upcoming Sony Xperia Z3 will be powered the Snapdragon 801 MSM8974 chipset which clocks at 2.5GHz. Apparently, the Xperia Z3 will be equipped with the same processor as the slightly watered-down Xperia Z3 Compact handset.

Another piece of information we have is that the Xperia Z3 will be running on the latest Android 4.4.4 firmware which will be updated to Android L in the coming months.

The second leaked image shows that the Xperia Z3 is as tall as the first generation Galaxy Note phablet, but slightly thinner than it. If I’m not wrong, the Xperia Z3 will be sporting a 5.2-inch QHD display – similar to that for the LG G3.

If rumors are true, then the Xperia Z3 will be anounced in September during the IFA event held in Berlin this year.
