Tutorial : How to unroot the Sony Xperia U

Unrooting the Xperia U I would say, is much simpler and time saving than rooting the device itself. Since I’ve taught you how to root the Sony Xperia U, we will now move on to the next tutorial which will guide you on how to unroot the Sony Xperia U. Likewise before we begin, I would like to warn you that during the process of unrooting, there is a risk of bricking your own device. So if you still want to proceed, you’ll be doing it at your own risk and we will hold no responsible for any form of damage on your device. It’s also a good practice for you to backup your device before embarking on any of these procedures.

 

*This procedure works only if you’ve rooted the Sony Xperia U using this procedure. Similarly, it works only on PCs running on Windows OS.

 

1. Download the Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18  package. ( This is the same program that you’d used to root the Xperia U )
2. Extract the files to your desktop.
3. Enable USB Debugging on the Sony Xperia U, by going to Menu > Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging.
4. Connect the Xperia U to your PC using a USB cable.
5. Execute the RunMe.bat application.
6. On the program, select the Normal Mode option. ( Only if there is, if not ignore this step! )
7. From the program, select the unroot option.
8. Wait a moment for it to unroot your device…
9. Reboot the Xperia U.
10. Congratulation you’ve successfully unrooted your Sony Xperia U!
11. After unrooting, your Superuser app should no longer be found in your device.

 

Simple isn’t it? Yeah, but even though it is simple, but do be very cautious during the process to ensure your device doesn’t brick by your mistake!
