On Oct. 26, Xiaomi unveiled the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro flagship phones featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset in China. Both models have been available for pre-orders since the launch date, and they finally went up for sale at 8 pm (local time) on October 31. Here’s what the company said about the first sales of the 14 series:

According to Xiaomi’s Weibo post, the Xiaomi 14 series achieved a significant milestone by selling out within the first four hours of its debut. It surpassed the previous year’s first-day and full-day sales records on major Chinese online retail platforms such as Tmall, Jingdong Mall, Douyin, and Kuaishou.

Additionally, the brand revealed that the Xiaomi 14 series witnessed a remarkable sixfold increase in first-sale sales compared to the previous generation within just five minutes of being made available for purchase. However, it is not clear how many units of the Xiaomi 14 and 14 Pro were sold in the first sale. In China, the Xiaomi 14 starts at 3,999 Yuan ($546), and the 14 Pro starts at 4,999 Yuan ($683).

Xiaomi 14, 14 Pro specifications

The Xiaomi 14 has a 6.36-inch flat OLED FHD+ 120Hz display and a 4,610mAh battery with 90W charging. On the other hand, the 14 Pro has a 6.73-inch curved-edge OLED panel that offers a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It packs a 4,880mAh battery with 120W wired and 50W wireless charging.

Both devices feature HyperOS-based Android 14, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Both phones have a 32-megapixel front-facing camera and a 50-megapixel (Light Hunter 900 main camera) + 50-megapixel (ultra-wide) + 50-megapixel (telephoto) triple camera unit.
