Xiaomi is reportedly working on its first flip-style foldable phone, which is tentatively called the Xiaomi MIX Flip. A Chinese leaker has tipped the launch timeframe of the MIX Flip, which coincides with a leak that surfaced earlier this year.
As per the tipster, the Xiaomi MIX Flip is expected to be officially announced in 2024. This information is consistent with a previous leak from June, which Digital Chat Station also mentioned indicated a 2024 release.
The leaker claims that the Xiaomi MIX Flip 4 and MIX Fold 4 will be foldable phones in 2024, with the flip-style device launching before the Fold 4. Hence, there is a possibility that the MIX Fold 4 may launch in the first half of 2024.
A prior leak disclosed that the MIX Flip 4 would come with a Snapdragon 8-series processor. The tipster has suggested that it might be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which is a reasonable assumption given that flip-style devices from other manufacturers slated for release in 2024 are also likely to use this particular chip.
The other details of the Xiaomi MIX Flip are not known yet, but its appearance in the IMEI database revealed that it has the 2311BPN23C model number. Notably, only the model number for the Chinese version has been identified at this point, leaving uncertainty about whether it will see a global release.
