According to ASUS, the 270Hz touch sampling rate of its front display delivers a touch latency of just 25ms which is currently the lowest among all the current smartphones in the market.

Despite having an ultra-responsive touch display, users also have the option to use its customizable, ultrasonic shoulder buttons for their game play.

Performance

Under the hood, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 is driven by the latest Snapdragon 865+ SoC – an updated version of the Snapdragon 865 SoC which deliver a slightly higher clocked rate of 3.1GHz.

In fact, the Snapdragon 865+ is the first mobile silicon to finally edge past the 3GHz mark and its defintiely good to know that the ROG Phone 3 is among the first to utlize this chipset.

Alongside the Snapdragon 865+ SoC, the ROG Phone 3 also features up to 16GB RAM and a hefty 512GB onboard storage. The underlying memory technology employed by the ROG Phone 3 include the leading LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 flash storage which ensures speedy performance for the handset.

To make things even sweeter, ASUS also included an AeroActive Cooler 3 to keep the device cool during extensive gaming runs.

Before we forget, the ROG Phone 3 also has an entry-level model dubbed as “Strix Edition” which is powered by the older Snapdragon 865 coupled with 8GB of RAM and 256GB onboard storage.

Cameras

Moving on to the camera department, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 has a triple-cameras system over on its rear panel. The design of its rear camera remain pretty much unchanged, except it is now slightly more elongated due to an additional lens.

It will be headlined by a 64 megapixels main camera which will be paired alongside a 13 megapixels ultra-wide lens with 125-degrees field-of-view, as well as a 5 megapixels macro camera for close-up shots.

It’s worth noting that its main camera is also capable of supporting a lossless 2x digital zoom. However, this feature could only be activated at 16 megapixels resolution.

Other than that, the camera department will be rounded up by an impressive 24 megapixels selfie camera at the front.

Battery

At the helm, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 draws power from a 6,000mAh battery which carries support for 30W Quick Charge 4.0 technology. According to ASUS, a 46 minutes charge will be able to bring the device from 0 to 70% battery level.

What’s interesting however, is that the custom ROG UI actually provides users with the ability to control over the charging rate of the device. So if you intend to charge the device overnight, you are free to reduce its charging rate to say between 15W to 20W.

Pricing

As for the pricing, the ASUS ROG Phone 3 will be priced at €799 for the “Strix Edition”, as well as €999 and €1099 respectively for its 12GB+512GB and 16GB+512GB models.
