ASUS ROG Phone Launched with 90Hz Display, 8 GB RAM, SD845 and 4,000mAh Battery

ASUS has launched the ASUS ROG Phone as its first gaming phone. The handset sports a unique appeal and comes with 90Hz display for immersive gaming experience. Also, it is loaded with best of the specs such as the fastest SoC and large-sized battery.

The ASUS ROG gaming phone has a 6-inch 18:9 FHD+ display that has a refresh rate of 90Hz and it features dual speakers on its top and bottom bezels. The backside of the phone has cooling vents, dual camera module and an ASUS ROG logo that can be customized to illuminate in different colors and patterns. It also serves as a notification LED. The front and rear sides of ASUS ROG is flanked with Gorilla Glass panels. The handset has water-resistant, but the Taiwanese company did not reveal any information on its IP rating.

The bottom edge of the phone features a headphone jack along with USB-C. On the left edge is the accessory port that can be also used for charging while gaming on the phone. There are three ultrasonic pressure-sensitive zones on the phone. The one placed on the side can be squeezed to activate X MODE that changes the theme of the phone to red and optimizes performance by shutting down tasks that run in the background. The other two sensors that are dubbed as AirTrigger are placed at the two corners in landscape mode. These work as virtual trigger for gaming which can be customized according to preference of the user.

The Snapdragon 845 SoC with an overclocked speed of 2.95 GHz powers the phone with 8 GB of RAM. It can be availed in 128 GB and 512 GB storage sizes. A GameCool vapor-chamber is planted inside the device to dissipate the heat. The other advanced features of the phone include 4,000mAh battery with 20W fast charging and Wi-Fi 802.11ad.

The company also announce couple of accessories for the phone such as AeroActive Cooler that has a USB-C and a headphone jack on the left for disturbance-free gaming; WiGig Dock for gaming on big screen with Wi-Fi 802.11ad’s fast connection. It involves connecting keyboard, mouse and monitor; the TwinDock in which the phone sits at the top with the dock’s 6-inch FHD secondary screen at the bottom and it comes with an additional battery backup of 6,000mAh capacity.

ASUS is yet to confirm on the pricing of the ASUS ROG phone and its accessories. What can be said that the smartphone and its accessories won’t coming for cheap.
