Dimensity 9300 chip configuration tipped, to rival the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

MediaTek has recently launched the Dimensity 9200 Plus chip as an enhanced version of the Dimensity 9200, which was announced in the last quarter of 2022. Rumors are rife that the company is now working on a new flagship chip named the Dimensity 9300. It is likely to launch in Q4 this year. Well ahead of the expected launch, tipster Digital Chat Station has leaked the key specifications of the D9300.

The Dimensity 9300 chipset will adopt a new architecture design. It will be equipped with 4 x Cortex-X4 CPU cores and 4 x Cortex-A720 CPU cores. As per the official statement, the Cortex-X4 will offer a performance boost exceeding 15 percent and a 40 percent reduction in power consumption as compared to the Cortex-X3. Furthermore, the energy efficiency of the Cortex-A720 has improved by 20 percent as compared to the Cortex-A710.

The tipster has previously claimed that the D9300 will be manufactured using TSMC’s N4P processor. It is speculated that the chip will include the Immortalis-G720 GPU.

The Dimensity 9200 was first seen on the Vivo X90 and Vivo X90 Pro, whereas the Vivo X90 Pro+ debuted as the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 phone last year. It is speculated that the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro will be the first smartphones to come equipped with the Dimensity 9300 chipset.

Speculations are rife that the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro will both support 120W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The X100 Pro+ may feature a periscope telephoto camera. The X100 series will feature a curved-edge screen and a triple camera unit on the back.
