Today, Huawei has announced that the EMUI 11’s user base had surpassed 100 million globally, spanning across a wide range of supported smartphones and tablets. Coincidentally, the company is also celebrating on the phenomenal growth of AppGallery which now host more than 530 million users globally as well.

The growth of AppGallery comes from several fronts. Firstly, the number of registered developers had grown by 77% (year-over-year) to 2.3 million. Secondly, app distributions had also skyrocketed to 384.4 billion which is in fact 174 billion more than the figure attained in the previous year (2019). In fact, gaming is the key in driving the explosive growth in app distribution as the platform now has 500% more games as compared to last year.

Furthermore, AppGallery has also helped over 10,000 Chinese apps enter overseas markets which further diversify global users’ app experience. Among this list includes top global apps such as Banggood, Pascal’s Wager, and Rise of Kingdoms: Lost Crusade.

According to Mr. Zhang Zhe, Director of Global Partnerships & Eco-Development Business Development at Huawei Consumer Business Group, the numbers are proof of AppGallery’s ongoing progress as a truly global app marketplace.

“It’s not just about quantity, and the fact that the number of apps integrated with HMS Core has more than doubled in one year shows that more developers are looking to Huawei’s on-device capabilities to drive innovation and provide better and more unique user experiences,” said Mr. Zhang.
