EMUI 9.0 will be based on Android 9.0 – Mate 20 is the first to adopt

In addition to specifying the features of the Kirin 980 processor, Huawei announced that it will launch a new EMUI 9.0 operating system based on Android 9.0. It is expected to be first applied to the Mate 20 series mobile phone to be released on October 16th. Huawei P20 Pro, Mate RS Porsche Design, and other previously introduced models such as Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, and Mate 10 Porsche Design are expected to also upgrade to EMUI 9.0.

According to Huawei, the EMUI operating system has been in development for 6 years. The daily active users are now more than 350 million, covering 216 countries and regions, corresponding to 77 languages. Huawei has also started to make Android 9.0 customization adjustments very early this year and created a new EMUI 9.0 in a natural minimalist style. The company further put in much effort to improve the smooth performance and also improving its security performance. In addition, Huawei also integrated Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology into the new version. Huawei is expected to introduce the official version of EMUI 9.0 on October 16th in London with much fanfare as this system is highly anticipated. The Mate 20 series will be the first Huawei mobile phone product to adopt Android 9.0 Pie system. It is expected that Huawei P20 and P20 Pro will be next in line while the Mate RS Porsche Design, Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Mate 10 Porsche Design, and models including Honor 10, Honor V10 and Honor Play will closely follow.
