Facebook launches Messenger Rooms which support unlimited video calls with up to 50 participants

In order to help better connect friends, family or colleagues during this difficult period, Facebook has launches a new Messenger Rooms service which will support unlimited video calls with up to 50 participants.

Although the Messenger Rooms could only be created by a Facebook or messenger user, but non-users could be invited into the rooms via an invitational link.

Of course, the creator of the room will have total control over the visibility of the room and its participants. The creator will have the ability to remove any participants in the group, and is able to lock the room if he/she do not want any other participants to join.

According to Facebook, the new Messenger Rooms service has begun rolling out in some countries this week, and will be heading to the rest of the world in the coming weeks.

In the meantime, Facebook is also working on other ways to create rooms via Instagram Direct, WhatsApp and Portal.
