In the previous week, there were reports that claimed that Google sold around 1 million units of the Google Pixel smartphones. The figure was calculated on the basis of the number of times the Pixel Launcher app was downloaded as the app has been exclusively available on Google Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones.
According to Baystreet Research, Google may have sold 1.8 million units of the Pixel duo. The research firm also adds that 475,000 units of Pixel smartphones were sold in this quarter. These numbers show the Pixel smartphones are not major threat for Apple and Samsung flagships. Still, the sales record of Pixel phones seems to be impressive so far. The reason behind it is that none of the Nexus smartphones managed to achieve earth shattering sales
Google may have sold around 1 million units of each smartphone. The Nexus 6P from 2015 is said to be the bestselling Nexus smartphone. Reaching near 2 million mark is still an achievement for Google as far as selling smartphones is concerned. The Google Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2 are slated to debut in October this year. Both the smartphones like expected to be powered by Snapdragon 835 and are likely to feature full-screen displays like the Galaxy S8 smartphones.
