Helio G70 Chipset Details Appear; Rumored to Power Redmi 9

A recent report had revealed that Chinese brand Redmi is gearing up to launch Redmi 9 smartphone in the first quarter of 2020. The report had claimed that it will be powered by a new Helio G70 chipset. By the moniker, it appears that it could be a lower configuration SoC than the Helio G90T that powers the Redmi Note 8 Pro. A Chinese tipster has shared the key details of the Helio G70.

According to the tipster, the Helio G70 is an entry-level processor. It includes two Cortex A75 cores working at 2.0GHz and six Cortex A55 cores clocking at 1.7 or 1.7 GHz. The SoC will include Mali-G52-MC2 GPU. In terms of performance, it seems to be less powerful than MediaTek’s processor named Helio P65

Rumors surrounding the Redmi 9 has revealed that it is equipped with a 6.6-inch display with waterdrop notch. This indicates that it will be larger device than the predecessor Redmi 8 phone. The Helio G70 chipset on the Redmi 9 will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM. The device could be coming with a native storage of 64 GB. The smartphone could be available in different RAM and storage options as well. As of this writing, there is no word on the pricing of the Redmi 9. The smartphone is expected to arrive first in Chin. It is expected to be available in India after its launch in the home market.
