Here are the upcoming smartphone launches for August

As usual, we’d complied the list of confirmed smartphone launches which will occur for the month of August. Upcoming smartphones which have yet to receive official or credible confirmation on its launch date will be omitted from this list.

Upcoming Smartphone Launches for August

August 11th – Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra & Redmi K30 Ultra

To commemorate the company’s 10th anniversary, Xiaomi will be launching the highly-anticipated Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and Redmi K30 Ultra flagship phones on August 11th.

These two devices are expected to pack various high-end features including an AMOLED display, Snapdragon 865 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 flash storage, as well as fast-charging support.

Other than that, a recently leaked poster also revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra could be coming with an impressive 120x digital zoom which will put it ahead of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Huawei P40 Pro Plus in terms of zooming capabilities.

August 17th – iQOO 5

iQOO will be launching the brand new iQOO 5 flagship series on August 17th. It has been confirmed by the recent 3C listing that the top variant of the iQOO 5 will be the first commercially available smartphone to come with the incredible 120W fast-charging support.

Other than that, we also know that the iQOO 5 series smartphones are expected to feature an AMOLED display with 120Hz screen refresh rate, as well as equipped with the flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC.

August – Vivo S1 Prime

Vivo has confirmed that the company will be launching a brand new mid-ranger smartphone known as the Vivo S1 Prime in Myanmar. Although the actual date has yet to be revealed by the company, but the recent teasers released by Vivo had provided strong evidence that the device will be launched later this month.

Based on the teasers, we know that the Vivo S1 Prime will share the same design as the current Vivo S1 Pro and the Vivo X50 Lite as depicted by the familiar-looking, diamond-style camera module at the back.

In terms of specs, it is likely that the Vivo S1 Prime will be maintaining the same Snapdragon 6-series chipset which will be paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department.

August – Realme C12 & C15 (India)

Several reputable leakers had recently confirmed that the Realme C12 and C15 duo will be announced in India during the second-halve of August. On top of that, Realme had also dropped several hints on the imminent launch of these budget-centric smartphones as well.

Based on the recent Geekbench and certification listings, it can be confirmed that the upcoming Realme C12 will be powered by the same octa-core Helio G35 SoC as the current C15. It will also features a massive 6,000mAh battery but it lacks of the fast-charging support which is present on the Realme C15.
