We’re less than two weeks away from the official unveiling of the highly-anticipated Huawei P40 flagship series which will be announced on March 26th.
So far, we’d already learned quite a lot about this upcoming flagship series which is speculated to come in three different flavors including the Huawei P40, P40 Pro, as well as an even higher-end model which will reportedly be known as Huawei P40 Pro Premium.
These devices could be easily distinguished by looking at it’s rear camera module. The Huawei P40 has a total of 3 camera sensors at the back, while the P40 Pro and P40 Pro Premium have a total of 4 and 5 camera sensors respectively.
Today, courtesy of renowned leaker Evan Blass, we’re able to have a good look at the color variants that will be available for the upcoming P40 flagship series.
As seen from the render, both the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro will be available in a total of five color options including Silver Frost, Blush Gold, Black, Deep Sea Blue, and Ice White. The Huawei P40 Pro Premium on the other hand, will be available in both Ceramic Black and Ceramic White.
It’s worth noting that the Mint Green variant of the Huawei P40 Pro has been omitted in the render above, therefore it is likely that there could be more color variants than what was revealed here.
Here’s a quick summary of what we’d learned about the P40 flagship series so far:
Huawei P40 (ANA-AN00/ ANA-TN00)
According to an earlier leaked render of the Huawei P40, the device will feature a pill-shaped cut-out on the top-left corner which houses a total of two camera sensors. This is pretty similar to what we’d seen on the recently announced Huawei Nova 6 and Honor V30 .
On it’s flip-side, there will be a rectangular camera module that houses a triple-camera setup which are believed to be a main shooter, ultra-wide lens, as well as a ToF lens.
The Leica-branded camera will also be accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash housed within the same module. Seen in the render above, the camera module makes a slight protrusion from the device’s rear panel.
In terms of internals, the entire Huawei P40 lineup will be driven by the latest Kirin 990 SoC out of the box. Similarly, both the Huawei P40 and P40 Pro will be able to support up to 40W fast-charging as well.
Huawei P40 Pro (ELS-AN00/ ELS-TN00)
The Huawei P40 Pro on the other hand, will feature a more pronounced curves along the two sides of it’s front panel as compared to the P40.
On it’s rear panel, the rectangular camera module will house a total of four camera sensors which are believed to be a main shooter, Cine Lens, telephoto lens, as well as a ToF sensor.
According to rumors, the P40 Pro could feature a 52 megapixels Sony-made “Quad Quad Bayer” sensor. This basically means it will make use of two 4-in-1 Quad Bayer conversions to achieve a 16-in-1 pixel-binned image.
Huawei P40 Pro Premium
As mentioned earlier, the Huawei P40 Pro Premium will be the highest-end model among the trio. This device will have a penta-camera setup, with an inclusion of a periscope camera that is capable of achieving up to 10x optical zoom.
