Nubia will soon be announcing a brand new mid-ranger phone known as the Nubia Play on April 21st. This device will be a 5G-enabled smartphone which will be primarily targeted at the younger population.
Today, the company has released the first-ever official render of the Nubia Play which revealed the device’s rear design in full glory. Seen above, the device has a unique camera module at the back which is flanked by a LED flash and another camera sensor. It has been confirmed that the quad-camera setup will feature a 48 megapixels main camera. In addtion to that, Nubia had recently released a couple of samples shots taken by the Nubia Play as well.
Although the Nubia Play is a mid-ranger smartphone, but the device has a silky-smooth 144Hz screen refresh rate which is way higher than the refresh rate among recent flagship phones including the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra and Huawei P40 Pro. In fact, high screen refresh rate is slowly becoming one of the key features among mid-ranger smartphones. If you still remember, the newly announced OPPO A92s also has an impressive screen refresh rate of 120Hz too.
Other than that, the Nubia Play will be driven by an octa-core Snapdragon 765 platform which will allow the device to support both standalone (SA) and non-standalone (NSA) 5G modes. There will also be a hefty 5,100mAh battery under the hood which is capable of supporting up to 30W fast-charging.
In the Chinese market, this device is poised to compete against other 5G mid-ranger smartphones including the recently unveiled Honor 30S and the upcoming Huawei Nova 7 series smartphones.
