Here’s our first look at the OnePlus Nord 2

After launching the OnePlus Nord CE 5G and Nord N200 5G smartphones this month, OnePlus is now gearing on the launch of yet another Nord series phone – OnePlus Nord 2. Today, courtesy of the folk over at 91Mobiles, we’re able to have our first near-official look at this device ahead of it’s Q3 2021 launch.

OnePlus Nord 2 Render -1

As seen in the renders, the upcoming OnePlus Nord 2 will be sporting a completely different design from last year’s OnePlus Nord. The rear camera module of the OnePlus Nord 2 appears to resemble what we saw on the OnePlus 9 series smartphone amidst some rearrangement to it’s camera sensor and flash unit. Also, the camera count has been reduced from four in the OnePlus Nord to just three in the upcoming model as well.

Based on past reports, the three cameras at the back are likely to include a 50 megapixels main camera, 8 megapixels ultra-wide unit, as well as another 2 megapixels sensor which is likely to be used for macro shot or depth sensing.

On the front side of the phone, the OnePlus Nord 2 ditches a dual-cam setup and opted for a single selfie camera housed with a hole-punch cutout located on the upper-left corner of the screen. This camera is expected to be a 32 megapixels snapper according to earlier reports.

In terms of specs, the OnePlus Nord 2 is likely to be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset which will be paired with up to 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard storage in the memory department. The phone is also expected to draw power from a respectable 4,500mAh battery with either 30W or 65W fast-charging support.
