Here’s our first look at the upcoming Honor V40

Honor will be launching the next-generation’s Honor V40 flagship on January 18th next week. Ahead of its official unveiling, the official promo poster of the device had already been spotted on several retail stores in the Chinese market which offer us our first look on the upcoming device.

Based on the promo poster, it could see seen that the upcoming Honor V40 will flaunt a curved display upfront that comes with a pill-shape cutout on the upper-left corner. This time round, the curves along its edges seem to be really pronounced and kind of remind us of the Mate 30 Pro.

Over at the back, there’s actually three different color variants available including Blue, Black, as well as Orange-Peach gradient. Towards the top-left, you can find a rectangular camera island that houses a quad-camera setup which will be lead by a 50 megapixels primary shooter. According to reports, the primary shooter is likely to be the Sony IMX766 sensor which we saw on the OPPO Reno5 Pro+.

Under the hood, the Honor V40 is expected to be powered by the MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ chipset which is unlike any of its earlier V-series devices which traditionally features the flagship Kirin chipset.

Moving on, its front display is rumored to be pretty much similar to the current Huawei Nova 8 Pro. Therefore, its likely to be an OLED panel that measures 6.72-inches diagonally. On top of that, the front panel also comes with support for 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bits color depth which bring users an immersive graphical experience.

Other than that, its recent certification listing had also revealed that the device will come along with 66W fast-charging support. Although not officially confirmed, there were also reports suggesting that the device could support up to 45W – 50W wireless charging support as well.
