Honor 8A entry-level smartphone has gone official in China. It has arrived with a waterdrop notch screen and it is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 that was first seen on the Xiaomi Mi Play handset which was announced in December 2018.
Honor 8A Specifications, Features and Price
The Honor 8A comes with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio display of 6.008 inches. It supports HD+ resolution of 1560 x 720 pixels. It delivers a screen-to-body ratio of 87 percent.
The MediaTek Helio P35 chipset with 2.3 GHz octa-core processor onboard is present under the hood of the Honor 8A. The chipset is coupled with 3 GB of RAM. The handset comes in storage choices of 32 GB and 64 GB. For additional storage, there a dedicated microSD card slot on the device.
The Honor 8A has a rear camera of 13-megapixel. It offers features like f/1.8 aperture, LED flash and PDAF. Sitting inside the notch on the front is an f/2.2 aperture 8-megapixel selfie snapper. There is no fingerprint scanner on the Honor 8A which means users will have the only option of face unlock for securely unlocking it. The smartphone comes preloaded with Android 9 Pie OS and EMUI 9.0 skin.
The 32 GB Honor 8A has landed in China with a price tag of 799 Yuan ($116). Only the 32 GB model of the phone is available for pre-orders. Honor is yet to confirm the price of its 64 GB edition. The Honor 8A can be purchased in colors like Magic Night Black, Aurora Blue, Red and Platinum Gold.
