Honor Play 4T Series Could be Last 4G Phones from Honor

The 5G era has arrived. Smartphone OEMs are not launching flagship phones with 5G capabilities, they are also working on affordable 5G phones. While Kirin 990 5G is designed for 5G flagship phones from Huawei and Honor, the newly announced Kirin 820 5G chipset is meant for upper mid-range 5G phones from both brands. Yesterday, Honor launched the Play 4T and Play 4T Pro smartphones. These could be the last 4G phones from Honor.

For the first time, Honor used the “T” letter in the names of its devices. Wai Xialong who is the Product Manger of Honor Play series revealed that T stands for Terminator. It could be the last 4G phone from the Chinese manufacturer. Hence, it appears that the forthcoming mid-range and low-budget phones from Honor may also arrive with 5G capabilities.  It remains to be seen whether the company announces a new 5G Kirin chipset for budget-friendly devices.
