Yesterday, we’d finally gotten our first look at the upcoming Honor Play 5 smartphone which is slated to debut as early as May next month. Now, more details of the device has surfaced on Weibo to give us a better idea on what to expect from its specs.
Based on the newly leaked information, we can expect the upcoming Honor Play 5 to feature a FHD+ OLED display upfront that’s likely to support an in-display fingerprint scanner. Furthermore, it was also noted that the device will arrive with an ultra-slim chassis measuring 7.46mm (in thickness) and weigh just around 179 grams.
Around the back, its quad-camera setup is said to be lead by a 64 megapixels main camera which is accompanied by an 8 megapixels ultra-wide unit, as well as a pair of 2 megapixels sensors for macro and depth information.
Under the hood, the Honor Play 5 is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 800U chipset that’s also found in most of the recently announced mid-ranger phones like the Vivo V21. To keep its light on, the phone relies on a respectable 3,800mAh battery with 66W fast-charging support.
Besides the Honor Play 5, its likely that the company may also launch a slightly higher-end model known as the Honor Play 5 Pro alongside the device. In related news, Honor is also reportedly working on the brand new Honor 50 series smartphones that are also expected to debut in May.
