Redmi Sells Over 100,000 Units of Redmi K40 Gaming Edition in One Minute in the First Sale

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition was announced earlier this week. It is the first hardcore gaming phone from the brand. During the launch, the company confirmed that it will go on sale for the first time at 10 AM (local time) on April 30. Soon after the sale, the company revealed that it sold over 100,000 Redmi K40 Gaming Edition smartphone units in just one minute.

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition was introduced in five variants such as 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage, 12 GB RAM + 128 GB storage, and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. These models are priced at 1,999 Yuan ($309), 2,199 Yuan ($340), 2,399 Yuan ($371), 2,399 Yuan ($371), and 2,699 Yuan ($417).

REdmi K40 Gaming Edition first sale

The special Bruce Lee edition of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition was also made available for purchase today in China. This special model comes with different packaging, accessories, and themes. It costs 2,799 Yuan ($339), and it comes with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage. Chinese publications like IT Home claim that it was also sold out instantly.

The Redmi K40 Gaming Edition has a 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel that offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. The Dimensity 1200 chip powers the phone with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It comes with 67W charging for its 5,065mAh battery.

The K40 Gaming Edition has a front camera of 16-megapixel and its rear camera setup has a 64-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel secondary camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. It offers other features like mechanical gaming triggers, a big-sized heat dissipation system, JBL powered stereo speakers and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
