Honor Play 6T series are the latest mid-range offerings from Honor

Honor has officially announced a pair of mid-range models in the Chinese market dubbed as the Honor Play 6T series which include two different models: Honor Play 6T and Honor Play 6T Pro.

Both models are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity chipsets along with some other pretty impressive specs despite their affordability. Without further ado, let’s check out what the new devices have in store for us!

Honor Play 6T Pro

Starting with the higher-end model, we have the Honor Play 6T Pro which sports a 6.7” LCD display with FHD+ screen resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. For selfies and video calls, it also has an 8 megapixels front-facing camera.

At the back, the phone comes with an iPhone 13-inspired camera design which houses a dual-cam setup comprising of a 48 megapixels main camera alongside a 2 megapixels auxiliary camera.

Under the hood, the Honor Play 6T Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 810 chipset which will be paired with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage which can still be expanded via a microSD card.

To keep it’s lights on, the phone draws power from a 4,000mAh battery with 40W fast-charging support. Software-wise, the phone is shipped with Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.

For those who’re interested, the Honor Play 6T Pro is available in a trio of colors such as Silver, Black, and Pink. The phone will be priced at 1,399 Yuan (US$220) and 1,599 Yuan (US$250) respectively for it’s 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants.

Coming to the more affordable Honor Play 6T, the phone actually keeps the same 6.7” LCD display with FHD+ screen resolution and 60Hz refresh rate. However, it’s front-facing camera will be toned down from 8MP to 5MP instead.

Unlike the Honor Play 6T Pro, the vanilla model actually has an additional rear camera, but this comes at the expense of a downgraded 13MP that will be aided by a pair of 2 megapixels cameras.

The difference between the two models extend to the chipset whereby the vanilla model settles with a modest Dimensity 700 chipset. This will be coupled with 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage which is once again expanded with a microSD card.

While this model comes with a larger 5,000mAh battery, it’s charging speed was reduced from 40W to 22.5W in return. However, it’ll be shipped with the same Magic UI 5.0 based on Android 11 out of the box.

The Honor Play 6T will be available in three colors such as Black, Blue, and Silver. It’ll be priced at 1,199 Yuan (US$190) and 1,399 Yuan (US$220) for it’s 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB trims.
