Honor Play Announced with GPU Turbo Technology 4D Gaming

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched the all new Honor Play flagship phone. What’s unique about this smartphone is that it comes with a GPU Turbo technology that considerably improves the gaming performance. It not only allows the Honor Play to support better frame rate, but also it enables users to feel gaming effects like gunshots and explosions. Moreover, the handset is also enabled with support for 3D surround sound technology. The handset can also smartly switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data connections when there is poor signal strength without disturbing the gaming experience.

The Honor Play houses a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display that has a notch. It delivers FHD+ resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. The Kirin 970 chipset powers the 4 GB and 6 GB RAM variants of the phone. It has a native storage of 64 GB and it also features a microSD card slot. A 3,750mAh battery is present under the hood of the phone.

The rear panel has 16-megapixel + 2-megapixel AI dual camera setup that comes with features like portrait mode, HDR, fun AR. There is a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel. It is preloaded with Android 8.1 Oreo that is overlaid with the latest EMUI 8.2 ROM. The back panel features a fingerprint scanner.

Honor Play’s 4 GB and 6 GB RAM have respective pricing of 1,999 Yuan (~$312) and 2,399 Yuan (~$379). Midnight Black, Aurora Blue and Nebula Purple are the color editions of the Honor Play. The handset will be available for purchasing from June 11.

Next month, Honor will be selling Honor Play Cool, a limited-edition variant with a price tag of 2,499 Yuan (~$390).
