Honor signed deals with key suppliers including Qualcomm & MediaTek

Honor has officially announced the company’s first smartphone after independence – Honor V40 – during a high profile launch event in China yesterday. So far, the company’s fresh beginning has been swarmed by positivity with the Honor V40 being sold out under 4 minutes during its debut sale.

Now, Honor’s CEO George Zhao has also announced that the company had signed partnership with major chip suppliers including Intel, Qualcomm and MediaTek according to Reuters.

Besides securing their chip supplies, Honor had also signed deals with other companies including AMD, Micron Technology, Microsoft, Samsung, SK Hynix, and Sony for various components.

Adding on, Zhao also said that the “The last five months have been an extremely difficult but meaningful time for Honor”. With the company’s independence, Honor will also venture into the middle and higher tier market, as well as engage in overseas expansion according to Zhao.

Similarly, the company will continue their pursue for the internet of things (IOT) market with its “8+1+N” strategy. As such, we can expect to see many other product launches including smart TVs, smartwatches, fitness bands, laptops.
