The Honor V40 was initially scheduled to be launched on January 18th next week. However, the launch has since been postponed to January 22nd due to unforeseen circumstances on its launch venue and facilities. Following then launch, the Honor V40 will go on sale in the Chinese market on the same day itself.
No doubt, the Honor V40 is among one of the most highly-anticipated smartphone during the first-quarter of the year given that the device will be the company’s first smartphone following its independence. Unlike its predecessors that run on flagship Kirin chips, the upcoming Honor V40 will be arriving with MediaTek’s Dimensity 1000+ chipset instead.
As usual, the upcoming Honor V40 will continue to sport a sleek design featuring a dual-curved display upfront. Based on the promo poster which we’d seen earlier on, the device is likely to bring along a glass-back which gives the device a premium outlook.
In the camera department, the Honor V40 will be coming with a quad-camera system on its rear lead by a 50 megapixels primary shooter which is likely to be the same Sony IMX766 sensor found on the OPPO Reno5 Pro+. As for the other three cameras, they will include an 8 megapixels ultra-wide lens, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels laser focus sensor.
Other than these goodies, we’d also learned from its recent certification listing had also revealed that the Honor V40 will come with 66W fast-charging support. Similarly, there were also reports suggesting that the device could support up to 45W – 50W wireless charging support as well.
