Honor X50 GT name officially confirmed, January launch expected

Honor will unveil the Honor Magic 6 series of flagship phones on Jan. 10 and Jan. 11 in China. A recent report claimed that the brand is also expected to announce the Honor X50 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 8-series chipset, in China soon. It is being said that the X50 Pro will be aimed at the offline market, whereas it will be rebranded as the Honor X50 GT in the online market. Today, Honor GT Series Product Manager Raul Wei Xialong officially confirmed the arrival of the Honor X50 GT.

According to Raul, the upcoming GT-branded smartphone from Honor will be the Honor X50 GT. Citing the positive reception of the Honor X50 in the Chinese market, Raul assures that the X50 GT will live up to expectations. Emphasizing a sense of urgency, he suggests that the device might make its debut as early as January.

The Honor X50 Pro is expected to feature a curved-edge OLED panel that offers a 1.5K resolution and 429 ppi pixel density. It will feature the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset and a 5,800mAh battery that supports 35W fast charging. It will feature a dual-camera setup on the back, but its detailed information has not surfaced yet. In addition, the device will come in black and green shades.

There is a possibility that the Honor X50 GT will be a rebranded or tweaked version of the X50 Pro. It is advisable to wait for further reports to know what’s packed inside the X50 GT.

In related news, Honor carried out the first sale of the Honor 90 GT in China yesterday. In its first sale, the 90 GT achieved a remarkable year-over-year growth of 238 percent as compared to the Honor 80 GT from last year.
