How to root Jiayu G4 in less than an hourThe Jiayu G4 was released back in May this year, and has been one of the most affordable high-end Android smartphone available in the market. Like most other devices running on the MTK processor, the Jiayu G4 can also be rooted through the boromir exploit using the Framaroot app. The process is simple, and can be done in less than an hour. If you’re interested, then read on to find out how to root the Jiayu G4.

 

Before we begin, I would like to warn you that during the process of rooting, there is a risk of bricking your own device. So if you still want to proceed, you’ll be doing it at your own risk and we will hold no responsible for any form of damage on your device. Its a good practice for you to backup your device to an external source apart from your own SD Card.

 

Follow the steps below on how to root the Jiayu G4

 

  1. Download the Framaroot apk to your desktop.
  2. Connect the Jiayu G4 to your PC.
  3. Copy the Framaroot apk from your PC to the root of your device’s SD card.
  4. Make sure you have checked the Unknown Sources in your device’s settings so that you can install apks outside Google Play.
  5. Launch your file explorer from your app drawer ( if you do not have one, you can download ES File Explorer from the Play Store ) and look for the Framaroot apk. Once you’ve found the apk, install it.
  6. Launch the Framaroot app from the app drawer.
  7. From the app, tap on Boromir and you should expect a success pop-up being shown up on your device.
  8. Restart your device.
  9. Congratulation! You’ve just rooted the Jiayu G4.
