HTC Confirms June 16 Event; Desire 20 Pro Seemingly Teased

HTC has sent out media invitations for the June 16 launch event. The poster that confirms the launch event date teases the design of the smartphone that will be made official. It appears that the Taiwanese company could be announcing the Desire 20 series of mid-range phones.

The poster also features the logos of HTC and Vive which indicates that the upcoming phone may carry some VR capabilities. The silhouette of the phone suggests that it features a punch-hole screen. Past reports have revealed that the Desire 20 Pro will be company’s first smartphone with a punch-hole display.

The HTC Desire 20 Pro has a model number of 2Q9J100. It has been supported at multiple places such as NCC certification in Taiwan, Google Play Console, Geekbench, and other certification platforms like Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance.

The Desire 20 Pro is equipped with Snapdragon 665 SoC and 6 GB of RAM. The handset is loaded with Android 10 OS. The exact of its screen is not known. What’s known is that the phone supports a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. It has a triple camera setup on its back. There could be a vanilla variant called Desire 20 launching along with the Desire 20 Pro. There is no word on the specs of the Desire 20 phone.

HTC is rumored to be working on the launch of its first 5G smartphone. Rumors have claimed that it will be announced in July.
